Can I make cookies with....

.....Boxed brownie mix? I love to cook, but baking is not my thing. I have a box of brownie mix and my kids want to make cookies, and I was wondering if there was some sort of way to tweak the recipe so I can make cookies. Any advice? Thanks!!!~ Sarah Embarrassed

Check http://www.foodnetwork.com Paula Deen has a recipe that she has done using cake mix and turning that into cookies would be worth a try with a brownie mix.  I would think that you might have to add a little more moisture since brownie mix is much thicker and heavier than cake mixture.
I am a firm believer in playing with your food!  It cant hurt to try, and you may stumble onto the next million dollar recipe!

Sure you can!  Just combine dry mix with stick of softened butter and 1 egg.  Batter will be thick, but if it is too stiff to mix, add a tablespoon of water.  Bake at 350 degrees for 9-11 minutes.  No need to grease baking sheet.  Soft and chewy at about 9 minutes, a little crispy at 11 minutes.
You can use 1/3 cup oil instead of softened butter.  You can add chopped nuts, chocolate chips or peanut butter to the batter, too!

Another idea would be to mix according to directions on box and make them in mini muffin pans.  Reduce baking time as they will bake much faster.  You can put a maraschino cherry in the center of the batter for a nice surprise inside.

Re: Can I make cookies with....

Thank you both so much! We made the cookies and mixed in white chocolate and milk chocolate chips (kinda like "muddies") and they were gone faster than it took for us to make them! Hooray! I have always loved cooking but shyed away from baking because I was never good at it. But with some practice, I am getting much better, and much more creative. Thanks again!Party!!!
