pre cook chicken?

pre cook chicken?

i'm gonna be bbque-ing alot of chicken breasts for a party, can i pre cook them some how and then just put them on the grill for awhile for  that bbque taste, thanks

Probably would not advise this.  If you are doing a lot it is risky to get them through the temperature zones quickly and you will have to do it 3 times, once heating the chicken then cooling then heating again. I think you may also loose a lot of moisture.
Just do them on the grill.  Don't use a BBQ sauce use a dry rub and serve sauce on the side.  This way you can keep a hot side of the grill and a cooler side with out worring that the chicken will burn with the sauce.  Once the chicken is done keep in a pan thet you can leave on the grill to keep hot.
I hope this works for you, if you come up with other ideas great,  just becareful of your temperatures.

Hi lily2, mitten may be right about not pre-cook, although I have, but not cooked al the way and just before putting them on the grill, not chilling them then piutting on the grill. Another ideal to keep them warm after grilling would be putting them in a crock pot or roaster. Lets of luck.Smile
