dry rub

looking for a rub for briskets and ribs that does not include paprika can anyone please help

I'm not sure if you are looking for home-made or one you can buy. All mine have a good amount a Paprika but I could try and invent one for ya :) If you are looking to buy one and keep it simple then I would recommend Willingham's Original Mild Rub. You can find it at www.Willinghams.com. He is the old master of competive BBQ and a very nice gentelmen. Give it a try ...No Paprika!

Try the Betty Crocker.com Southwestern Rub - it has a 4.5-spoon rating and NO paprika! Enjoy.

I would like to have a homemade recipe for a dry rub for steak and pork ribs, that way I could control the spice in it.

That Southwestern Dry Rub sounds really tasty!  Found it here for anyone else that is looking.

Hello Granna2 I make my own rub and it is so easy...like you said you can control the spices in it..

Here is my recipe for the rub and you can use it on any kind of meat.

My Meat Rub

 

1 Tblsp Thyme

1 Tblsp garlic powder

1 Tblsp onion powder

1 tsp coarse black pepper

1 Tblsp smoked paprika

1 Tblsp Cumin

1 Tblsp salt

Just combine all and store in a shaker....

i use equal parts of salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, dry mustard, and sugar.

rub into ribs, roast, chicken, whatever. cook over grill or in oven.
