I'm really excited cause I'm making 4 batches of the Star-Spangeled Brownies for a local cookout for first responders (policemen, firemen, EMTs, etc.) who are working the 4th and won't be able to enjoy a cookout with their families.

I've run into one problem though.  I can't find the stars anywhere.  If all else fails I guess I can just mix together some red, white, and blue sprinkles but it's just not the same.  Has anyone else been able to find those stars?

I think it is great that you are treating these people on the holiday!  I just happened to read the reviews on these brownies and it was mentioned in one review that these stars could be found in a craft store in the cake decorating aisle.  Good luck.  Happy 4th

You could also just pipe on some starts with frosting or a royal icing.  Or, use melting chocolate and make one star for each brownie.....I love to experiment

Just wanted to tell you guys thanks!  I did try the craft store, which seems to be the only place around that sells them, and I was too late, they were already sold out.  However, I did improvise and mixed red, white, and blue sugar sprinkles together.  It wasn't bad, just not what I wanted but everyone loved them so it's okay.
