Need Caramel Latte Cake Recipe

Im looking for this recipe that I made and I would swear it was in one of the little booklets you buy at the grocery store.  I cant find the little booklet anywhere and my husband wants me to make this cake for his birthday on Monday.  If anyone has this recipe PLEASE share with me.  It would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Thank you SO much!  : )

Re: Need Caramel Latte Cake Recipe

Hi Christine88,

Is the name of the cake, "Caramel Latte Cake?"  I found a recipe for "Cafe Latte's Turtle Cake," which sounds devine and the picture of it makes me want to jump through the computer and take a slice (sure -LOL).  It has caramel in the frosting (along with pecans, chocolate chips, etc.).  If this is it -I will post it.  If not, hopefully someone else will have the recipe for you.  It's only 7:18 AM and just thinking about a Caramel Latte Cake or Cafe Latte's (Restaurant in Paris) Turtle Cake.  Yummy! Stick out tongue

Re: Need Caramel Latte Cake Recipe

Yes, its actually called Caramel Latte Cake.  You bake a cake from a box then mix dulce de leche and espresso together, poke the cake and pour it over the cake and chill it.  Whipped cream is the frosting and you sprinkle chocolate powder over it.  I just dont have the measurements.  Thank you for looking though.  I appreciate it.

Re: Need Caramel Latte Cake Recipe

I e-mailed Uncle Phaedrus, Finder of Lost Recipes.  Maybe he can help.  If not, I hope someone else on the message boards has heard of it and has the recipe for you.  If/when I hear back for the request, I will let you know.  Don't give up.  If it was on a little brochure/pamphlet you picked up from the store, can you think back and maybe remember the product it was advertising -such as dulce de leche, etc?  If so, they may have a website that you could check.  Good luck. Sad

Re: I think I found a Caramel Latte Cake Recipe (similar recipe???)

Okay, after you described what the cake is like, I just looked at a lot of recipes where you used Sweetened Condensed Milk, Caramel topping and CoolWhip -and also poked holes in the cake.  See if this is similar enough so that you can make a Caramel Latte Cake for your husband's birthday.  This one is called "Holy Cow Poke Cake".  Someone who reviewed the recipe said that it is just as good without the candy bits on top.  Let me know if this is sort of what you are looking for -and if you make it let me know if it is as good as you and your husband remember.  AtlantaPat Confused

Holy Cow Poke Cake (Ready in 1-2 hours)

Ingredients:

1 package German Chocolate (or Milk Chocolate) Cake Mix

1 jar Caramel ice-cream topping

14 ounces can of Sweetened Condensed milk

4 Butterfinger (or Heath Toffee Bars) candy bars (optional)

8 ounces package Cream Cheese, softened

8 ounces Cool Whip

Directions:

Prepare cake as package directs.  Bake in a greased 9"X13" cake pan at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes (or until cake tests done).

Blend together the caramel topping and Sweetened Condensed milk.

As soon as cake is removed from the oven, take a straw, or back of a wooden spoon and poke holes all over the top of the cake.  Pour caramel and condensed milk mixture all over the cake.  If using the candy, crush 2 Butterfingers (or Toffee Bars) and sprinkle over cake.  Chill cake.

Stir together Cream Cheese and Cool Whip until well blended.  Spread over cake.  Crush remaining candy bars and sprinkle over cake, if desired.  Serves 12.  Sounds good to me! Yes

Re: Need Caramel Latte Cake Recipe

Hello Christine,

It would help if you remember the name of the booklet. Otherwise I can't help you. Sorry.

Re: Christine88 -Check out the Recipe for Caramel Latte Cake

Check a few posts back.  I found a recipe for you that sounds like you described.  It is called Holy Cow Poke Cake.  If it isn't exactly like it, it is probably close enough that with this recipe you might be able to make your husband a cake similar to it. AtlantaPat

Re: Need Caramel Latte Cake Recipe

I believe it was a Betty Crocker booklet.  The ones that come out every couple of months and are by the registers in a grocery store.  It was either Betty Crocker or Pillsbury as those are the only ones I buy.  But I've looked on both their websites and they dont have the recipe.

thank you

So Christine88,

Did you look at the recipe that I posted for you (above)?  It has a different name, but sounds pretty much like what you described to me. I will re-post it.  Do you think this is near the recipe -let me know. AtlantaPatIndifferent
