Brown Beauty Icing
1-1/3 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup soft shortening
1/4 cup milk
3 sq. unsweetened chocolate (3 oz) melted
1 tsp. vanilla
add:
1 whole egg
Beat just until frosting is smooth. Place bowl in ice water and stir until frosting is thick enough to spread.
If frosting becomes too thick, dip bowl in hot water for a few seconds and stir to desired consistency.
amount: for 2-8" or 9" layers for 13 x 9" oblong.
