My thoughts are all over the place today so here are several snippets with no real theme:

Last night I was at Salut with my friend Michelle to celebrate her birthday. She ordered a Cosmo and it was served with dry ice in the bottom of the glass so it bubbled and steamed like a caldron. It was really, really cool. You’re just going to have to trust me on that since I didn’t have my camera with me to snap a photo.

Michelle’s husband Kevin tipped me off to Triple Rock Social Club’s Free Bacon Wednesdays. I went there a week or so ago with AC and Luke to check it out. I think we were all pretty skeptical. Free bacon? No way. Turns out it’s true. We were served with two baskets of yummy, crispy bacon shortly after asking about it. Hog heaven.

Turns out, it’s hip and trendy to like bacon. Who knew? Check out this and this.

Oh—and as a follow-up to this post, I am happy to report the Fresh Mozzarella in Tomato Cups I made over the Fourth of July turned out well. They were a little putzy but they made a real impact in terms of presentation. They disappeared in a flash.

Heidi...I want to apologize for my demeanor this week directed at your post. It was wrong and I am sorry. My thoughts have also been all over the place when I found out about the tainted produce. I could go on and on when it comes to safety of foods, but I have found out that this site is not the place or the time to bring it up. I'm sorry if I offended you and your members but there was always a purpose in my thoughts and; that was to direct everyone's attention to think food safety and wellbeing. I know the sugar and fat issue was a bad move on my part but; I wanted to address that as well as the antibiotic issue to make people aware. Thanks for the fun time everyone especially granna2..lol.. I leave with exactly 100 posts. Chow for now..flourman..

More shameless plugging for Triple Rock: they've got the hands-down best jukebox selection in the Twin Cities; their menu is a more entertaining read than anything on the NY Times best-seller list; and the owners (Eric and Gretchen Funk) are awesome human beings. Check 'em out.
